Apartment Maintenance Technician / Handyman
Full-Time | Pittsburgh, PA
$23-$25/hour, depending on experience, with benefits
We are seeking a reliable, experienced and well-rounded Maintenance Technician to help maintain our apartment properties in the Pittsburgh area.
This is a hands-on position ideal for someone who takes pride in their work, can troubleshoot problems independently, and is comfortable handling a variety of maintenance and apartment turnover projects.
Responsibilities
- General apartment maintenance and repairs
- Cabinet installation, repair and adjustment
- Carpentry, doors, trim and hardware
- Light plumbing repairs, including faucets, toilets, drains and minor leaks
- Basic electrical work, including switches, outlets, fixtures and troubleshooting
- Drywall repair and patching
- Painting and touch-ups
- Appliance installation and basic troubleshooting
- Apartment turnovers and make-ready work
- Cleaning and general property upkeep
- Preventative maintenance
- Identifying larger repairs that should be handled by a licensed contractor
- Communicating professionally with residents and management
- Keeping work areas clean and organized
What We're Looking For
- Previous apartment, residential maintenance, construction or handyman experience
- Strong carpentry/cabinetry skills preferred
- Working knowledge of basic plumbing and electrical repairs
- Ability to work independently and prioritize maintenance requests
- Dependable, punctual and trustworthy
- Professional when working inside occupied apartments
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
- Ability to perform physical work, use ladders and lift maintenance materials
Multifamily/apartment maintenance experience is preferred, but we are also interested in experienced carpenters, remodelers and handymen who have a broad range of residential repair skills.
Full-time, year-round position with a stable family owned apartment ownership company.
