Logistics Transportation Operations Supervisor
Transportation Planner (On-Site) – Neville Island, PA
A well-established, asset-based, family-owned liquid bulk trucking company is seeking a high-performing Transportation Planner for our Pittsburgh terminal located on Neville Island, PA. Compensation is competitive and based on experience. We are looking for a motivated team player with strong work ethic, integrity, and initiative. The ideal candidate will have experience managing drivers, optimizing logistics operations, and collaborating across multiple terminal locations to maximize efficiency and service performance.
Position Summary
This role is responsible for efficiently supervising bulk tank drivers to pickup on-time in a safe and efficient manner. The operation supervisor will be responsible for communicating with the customer, drivers, leadership and other stake holders.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide leadership and foster a positive team environment
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with drivers and staff
- Coordinate daily operations to maximize personnel and equipment efficiency
- Collaborate with logistics planners across terminals to improve capacity and reduce empty miles
- Communicate effectively and promptly with customers
- Promote and uphold safety standards, including adherence to the Target Zero program
- Maintain a positive and professional attitude with drivers, staff, and leadership
- Perform additional duties as assigned by management
Qualifications
- Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
- Ability to multitask and make informed decisions in a fast-paced environment
- High level of self-motivation and accountability
- Proficiency with computer systems and logistics software
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree preferred, or equivalent industry experience
Work Environment & Schedule
- On-site role at a transportation terminal (Neville Island, PA)
- Fast-paced operational environment
- Typical schedule: 45–50 hours per week
