Andrews ASC is seeking a skilled and dependable Surgical Scrub Technologist to join our Operating Room team. This role is essential to maintaining a sterile environment and supporting surgical procedures with precision and professionalism. Under the supervision of the Charge Nurse Manager, the Scrub Tech ensures accurate instrumentation, anticipates surgical needs, and contributes to safe, efficient patient care.
Key Responsibilities
- Function as a vital member of the surgical team, delivering high-quality care
- Anticipate surgeon needs and ensure availability of supplies, instruments, and equipment
- Maintain strict aseptic technique and report/correct any breaches
- Verify patient identity and surgical site during “Time Out” procedures
- Open and transfer sterile supplies appropriately to the sterile field
- Demonstrate competency in scrubbing across all surgical specialties
- Operate and manage OR equipment safely and effectively
- Decontaminate instruments and equipment post-procedure using proper PPE
- Assist with room turnover to maintain surgical schedule efficiency
- Restock supplies and maintain cleanliness of equipment and workspaces
- Participate in mandatory annual education and facility in-services
- Serve on committees or task forces as requested
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technician program
- Surgical Technician certification preferred
- BLS certification required
- Strong reasoning, judgment, and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
- Detail-oriented with a commitment to safety and accuracy
- Computer literacy and documentation skills
- Willingness to work in a fast-paced, high-stakes environment
