Position Purpose:
The Admissions Counselor plays a supportive role in encouraging and successfully guiding students and prospective students through the Charis Bible College enrollment and admission process. This position blends administrative responsibilities with ministerial opportunities to interact with, inspire, and support individuals as they prepare to begin their journey at Charis. Through phone and email communication, the Counselor offers one-on-one encouragement, personal assistance, and key resources, while collaborating with other departments to ensure a smooth and faith-filled transition. This position connects prospective and incoming students to the Charis community, passionately introducing them to a life-changing, purpose-driven experience. The Admissions Counselor helps launch them into the fullness of God’s calling on their lives.
Essential Duties:
- Develop and maintain an understanding of all aspects of Charis Bible College and communicate them clearly and effectively.
- The Admissions Counselor serves as both a ministry representative and a strategic recruiter, effectively communicating the value of a Charis education and inspiring prospective students to enroll by presenting the life-changing impact of the college.
- Minister to prospects and students using the Word of God, offering spiritual support while representing the heart and mission of Charis.
- Regularly engages with prospective and incoming students by providing guidance, encouragement, and accurate enrollment information.
- Accurately follows admissions procedures and stays current with changes in program platforms and policies.
- Offer prayer, biblical encouragement, and spiritual support in all interactions.
- Collaborate positively with other teams to ensure a seamless and excellent student experience.
- Support and strengthen a Christ-centered, spiritually healthy community among students, staff, and faculty.
- Contribute to enrollment goals, conversion rates, and initiatives in alignment with Charis leadership’s vision.
- Maintain up-to-date records of all student interactions and follow-ups in admissions systems.
- Carry out additional responsibilities as needed or assigned.
Higher tiers will have additional responsibilities, including:
- International admissions
- VA-specific admissions
- Year 3 admissions
- Green card student status
- US EXT admissions and requirements
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Good written, verbal, and phone communication skills.
- Self-motivated and a fast learner. Able to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Ability to confidently and persuasively communicate the mission, benefits, and transformational impact of Charis Bible College to inspire enrollment decisions.
- Results-driven and committed to outstanding customer service.
- Competent in time management, organization, and attention to detail to meet deadlines.
- Positive, professional, and enthusiastic attitude in all responsibilities.
- Ability to sustain phone conversations via active listening and problem-solving with proper etiquette.
- Ability to engage and work with people of diverse ages and backgrounds.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
- Flexible availability for occasional evening/weekend events and conferences.
- Strong sense of calling to Andrew Wommack Ministries and Charis Bible College.
- Grounded in God’s Word and passionate about Christian education.
- Maintains professionalism and discretion with confidential matters.
- Culturally aware and diplomatic in diverse communication settings.
Requirements:
- Must have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
- Must sign the Statement of Faith.
- A high school diploma or equivalent education is required.
- A Charis Bible College graduate is preferred.
- Must pass all required checks.
Experience:
- A minimum of one year of administrative experience.
- A minimum of one year of customer service or Phone Center experience is preferred.
- Ministry experience is preferred.
- Compensation is commensurate with experience.
