Mental Health Worker & Transportation Specialist

Andrew Residence is currently hiring a full-time Mental Health Worker & Transportation Specialist for our DAY/EVE shift!

Current Mental Health Worker openings:

• Full-time (1.0 FTE): Monday-Friday 9:30 AM - 6:00 PM (*No weekends!)

Compensation starting at $23.00/hour with opportunity to receive $2.50/hour after completing CNA & TMA training courses during onboarding process.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Participate in the provision of a comprehensive program of services, including transportation to and from appointments, floor coverage, interacting with residents in independent and group settings, while keeping an emphasis on the milieu to facilitate maintenance of residents’ overall well-being.
• Monitor physical health changes and medication side effects, by collecting vital signs and communicating abnormalities and/or changes to nursing staff
• Assess resident mental health status daily and communicate status to treatment teams, intervening in emergency situations as needed.
• Administer medications and treatments per legal order and established protocols.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Social, Behavioral, or Health sciences.
• Valid drivers license, ability to successfully pass a driving record background check, and successful completion of a road evaluation.
• Proficiency with computer software (MS Word, Excel, Outlook, EHR)
• Effective communication skills
• Ability to contribute to interdisciplinary team framework

Preferred Qualifications:

• CNA license
• TMA certificate
• Experience working with resident populations
• Experience providing support to people with mental illness diagnoses

COVID-19 considerations: PPE is provided to all employees and we follow the recommendations from MDH and the CDC. CDC guidelines for COVID-19 vaccination recommend that everyone stay up to date with COVID-19 vaccines including booster doses. COVID vaccination for Andrew Residence employees is not required, but is highly encouraged.
