Litigation Attorney

Responsibilities
- Manage all aspects of personal injury litigation cases, including case strategy and trial preparation.
- Review cases at various stages, including receipt in the litigation department, treatment, trial, and settlement.
- Maintain communication with clients, carriers, and defense counsel.
- Draft pleadings, motions, correspondence, and legal documents.
- Attend depositions, hearings, mediations, settlement conferences, and trials.
- Review pleadings and discovery prepared by the litigation team.
- Oversee the medical management of litigation cases.
- Negotiate and settle cases with defense counsel.
- Manage the post-settlement process, including reviewing closing statements, final balances, and liens.
- Collaborate with the pre-suit team to determine case eligibility for litigation.
- Meet with experts and medical providers as needed.
- Conduct legal research and prepare for trial.
- Oversee Google review requests for the litigation team.
- Supervise the litigation paralegal and/or litigation team.
- Ensure proper documentation in the case management system.
- Monitor litigation department performance through department trackers, goals, and metrics.
- Ensure compliance with firm goals and KPIs.
- Attend and maintain CLE training and requirements.
Qualifications
- A growth mindset.
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school and admission to The Florida Bar
- Minimum of 2-3 years of litigation experience in personal injury law.
- Strong negotiation and trial preparation skills.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication abilities.
- Ability to work independently and manage a litigation caseload effectively.
- Proficiency in legal research, writing and case management software.
- Professional demeanor and ability to build rapport with clients and colleagues.
