Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Home Health Aide to provide essential support to clients in their homes. The ideal candidate will assist individuals with daily living activities, ensuring their comfort, safety, and well-being. This role requires a strong commitment to patient care and the ability to work effectively with diverse populations, including seniors and individuals with developmental disabilities.
Duties
- Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
- Provide companionship and emotional support to clients, fostering a positive environment.
- Monitor and document vital signs and changes in client health status using electronic medical records (EMR) systems.
- Administer medications as prescribed and assist with medication management.
- Perform light housekeeping tasks including cleaning, laundry, and meal preparation to maintain a safe living environment.
- Assist clients with mobility using equipment such as Hoyer lifts when necessary.
- Provide specialized care for clients with Alzheimer’s disease, dementia, or other memory-related conditions.
- Support hospice care needs by providing compassionate end-of-life assistance.
- Maintain confidentiality of patient information in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in home health, assisted living, or long-term care settings is preferred.
- Knowledge of medical terminology and experience with medical documentation is beneficial.
- Certification in CPR and First Aid is required.
- Experience working with individuals with disabilities or developmental disabilities is a plus.
- Familiarity with catheter care and vital sign monitoring is advantageous.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to build rapport with clients and their families.
- A caring attitude towards seniors and individuals requiring assistance in their daily lives.
