What are the responsibilities and job description for the Environmental Health and Safety Laborer position at Andpak?
SUMMARY
Under general supervision by the EH&S Manager, the company’s EH&S Laborer is responsible for hazardous waste management and general safety within the company. Training will be provided on a regular and as needed basis to educate the person in all areas listed below. This job is extremely important to the company and the person must take the job seriously and perform the job with maximum efficiency.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

- Handling of all hazardous waste streams generated by production, labs, and clean-up areas. This includes proper drum labeling, manifesting and transfer of materials.
- Inspection and disposal of all chemical containers.
- Inspection and record keeping responsibilities (see attached).
- Disposition of waste to the county landfill.
- Disposition and control of empty 55-gallon drums.
- Ordering and inventory control of pallets.
- Miscellaneous related duties throughout the plant.
- Primarily responsible for dispensing of all solvents to production and the cleaning area.
- Transferring water waste from Aqueous cleaning equipment.
- Participate as member of the Safety Team.
QUALIFICATIONS
- High school graduate.
- Minimum of two years of experience in the same or associated field.
- Must be familiar with computers running the Windows operating system and be proficient with Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.
- Must pay acute attention to detail.
- Must have strong interpersonal skills and the ability to deal effectively with a diversity of individuals at all organizational levels.
- Must have commitment to excellence and high standards.
- Must be able to understand and follow both verbal and written instructions.
- Must be able to work as a creative, flexible, innovative, and effective member of a team.
- Must be able to read, write legibly, count accurately, and perform simple math.
- Must be able to lift up to 30 lbs., additional weight with assistance.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $20.00 - $22.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
