PreK Instructional Assistant Permanent Substitute

Responsibilities

• Under teacher direction, assist the student or students in a range of instructional and social settings - individualized, large group, cooperative learning groups, playground, self-contained or mainstream classes.
• Foster student independence/reliance on self and assistance from peers, as needed.
• Enforce school rules and regulations and handle disciplinary problems fairly and firmly reporting serious infractions to classroom teacher and/or building administrator.
• Carry out other duties, as assigned.
  
  

Qualifications

• Minimum of two years of college or equivalent two years experience working with children.
• Superior interpersonal skills with parents and staff.
• Proven behavior management skills preferred.
• Experience assisting students in inclusion/mainstream models and in self-contained settings preferred.
• Ability to communicate and interact effectively with classroom teacher.
