We’re seeking a versatile IT professional to join our infrastructure team as a Data Center Operations & Network Support Specialist. In this role, you’ll oversee the day-to-day health of mission-critical systems spanning data centers, cloud environments, and enterprise networks. About The Role
We’re seeking a versatile IT professional to join our infrastructure team as a Data Center Operations & Network Support Specialist. In this role, you’ll oversee the day-to-day health of mission-critical systems spanning data centers, cloud environments, and enterprise networks. You’ll serve as the go-to resource for second-level support, server administration, and WAN troubleshooting while driving automation and process improvements across the environment.
What You’ll Do
- Systems Monitoring & Administration: Act as the primary administrator for enterprise monitoring and management platforms, ensuring consistent configuration, alerting, and performance standards.
- Server Support & Patching: Manage scheduled and emergency patching for on-premise and cloud-based servers, including vulnerability remediation and refresh/decommission cycles.
- Network Operations: Troubleshoot and resolve second-level WAN and server issues leveraging established knowledge bases; create and maintain procedures for configuring site routers, access points, DHCP scopes, security lockdowns, and secure tunnel administration.
- Backup & Recovery: Provide first and second-level support for enterprise data backup solutions, ensuring reliability, recovery readiness, and compliance with internal policies.
- Automation & Process Improvement: Lead initiatives to streamline connectivity turn-ups, configuration updates, and other repeatable tasks through scripting and automation.
- Inventory & Logistics: Manage and track broadband and wireless site routers and access points, including configuration, shipment, and documentation for field locations; produce clear procedural guides for less experienced team members.
- Vendor Coordination: Interface with vendors to coordinate ordering, installation, maintenance, and servicing of data center equipment and systems.
- Standardization: Configure new monitoring capabilities and establish naming conventions, baselines, and standardized settings for the systems under your stewardship.
- Associate’s degree in Computer Information Systems (or equivalent experience); Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- 1–3 years of hands-on experience in server administration, backups, patching, or networking support.
- Familiarity with PowerShell required; proficiency strongly desired.
- Practical experience with enterprise monitoring and management tools (such as SCOM, SolarWinds, NetBackup, Actifio, Cohesity, or similar).
- Working knowledge of WAN technologies, router/AP configuration, and basic network concepts.
- Flexibility to work rotating shifts, including evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Participation in a rotating on-call schedule for after-hours support when the data center is not staffed on site.
