We are an established, patient-focused concierge internal medicine group practice seeking an experienced Phlebotomist with Medical Assistant skills to join our friendly and collaborative team. Responsibilities
- Perform venipuncture and specimen collection accurately and efficiently
- Process, label, and prepare laboratory specimens for transport
- Familiarity with Quest Diagnostics is a plus
- This job is primarily phlebotomy, but as needed you may also perform medical assisting duties as below:
- Room patients and obtain vital signs, medical histories, and medication reconciliation
- Assist physicians with examinations and minor office procedures
- Administer injections, vaccines, and perform EKGs (as permitted by state regulations and training)
- Prepare exam rooms and maintain clinical supplies
- Document patient information accurately in the electronic medical record (EMR)
- Provide outstanding patient service while maintaining confidentiality and professionalism
- Follow OSHA, HIPAA, and infection control guidelines
- Assist with other clinical and administrative duties as needed
Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years of recent phlebotomy experience in a medical office, outpatient setting, or hospital setting
- Medical Assistant certification and/or phlebotomy certification required
- Experience in an internal medicine or primary care practice is highly desirable
- Proficient with venipuncture on patients of varying levels of difficulty
- Experience using an electronic medical record (EMR) system
- Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced clinical environment
- Flexibility in helping out colleagues as needed
- Current BLS/CPR certification preferred
