The Coordinator for Education Field Partnerships plays a vital role in supporting teacher preparation by coordinating and overseeing all aspects of field and clinical experiences within the College of Education. This position collaborates closely with school district personnel, with whom the College of Education has articulation agreements with, to arrange field placements, assign unit supervisors, and manage background check processes for all teacher candidates. The Coordinator will also plan and facilitate orientation workshops and course seminars, conduct ADEPT training meetings, recruit supervising instructors, and maintain detailed calendars and documentation for both Pre-Clinical and Clinical Experiences. This position is responsible for signing certification-related documents for the State Department of Education, addressing concerns from candidates and school partners, managing cooperating teacher remuneration, and overseeing the revision and publication of handbooks and forms. Additional responsibilities include maintaining comprehensive data and attendance records, supporting a placement service for graduates, supervising and advising students, and representing the university on committees, as requested by the Dean of the College of Education.
A bachelor's degree in a related field and previous classroom teacher experience in grades Pre-K-12 is preferred. Working knowledge of the ADEPT evaluation process and a strong understanding of the public school system is required. A professional demeaner, strong organizational skills, and dedication to the holistic development of students is essential.
