Laborer

Location: Sauk Rapids, MN (Traveling Position)

Anderson Underground is hiring Underground Laborers to support underground utility construction projects. This position involves hands-on outdoor work alongside equipment operators and foremen installing underground utilities, fiber optic cable, telecommunications infrastructure, and conduit.

Responsibilities

• Assist with trenching, excavation, potholing, backfilling, and site restoration.
• Support the installation of underground conduit, cable, and utility infrastructure.
• Load, unload, and transport materials, tools, and equipment throughout the jobsite.
• Spot for heavy equipment operators during excavation and underground construction activities.
• Assist with traffic control, barricades, trench boxes, and shoring systems.
• Perform hand digging and work around existing underground utilities.
• Operate basic construction tools, including compactors, tampers, and other hand and power tools.
• Maintain clean, organized, and safe jobsites.
• Follow OSHA, DOT, and company safety procedures.

Qualifications

• Previous underground utility construction or general labor experience preferred.
• Valid driver's license required.
• Class A CDL preferred but not required.
• Ability to perform physically demanding outdoor work in varying weather conditions.
• Willingness to travel extensively and work extended hours.
• Ability to pass required background and drug screenings.

Schedule & Travel

• 10 days on / 4 days off rotation.
• Approximately 50–55 hours per week, with overtime.
• Travel to project locations as needed.
• Company-paid flights and transportation when applicable.
• $175 per working day in per diem, paid weekly.
