POSITION OVERVIEW
TITLE: Lead Speech-Language Pathologist
SCHOOL YEAR: 2026-2027
STATUS/FLSA: Full-time / Non-Exempt
PAY SCHEDULE/GROUP:Teacher/Instructional
DIRECT REPORTS: NA
SUPERVISOR: Director of Special Education
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: 190 Days.
EVALUATION: Evaluated annually by the Ex. Director of Special Education
GENERAL DESCRIPTION
The purpose of this classification is to provide student speech therapy services and coordinate/lead the SLPs and SLPAs within the District.
LICENSES, CERTIFICATIONS & EDUCATION
- REQUIRED: Master’s Degree in Speech Pathology, SC Certification and LLR Licensure
ESSENTIAL DUTIES - Essential job duties are intended to be examples of duties and are not intended to be all inclusive. There will be other duties assigned.
- Screen, evaluate, and diagnose speech-language disorders and determine student eligibility for enrollment in the SL program.
- Develop goals, objectives, methods, and materials to assist students in achieving their highest potential.
- Provide speech-language services in full compliance with district, state, and federal regulations.
- Maintain student records in compliance with district, state, and federal regulations.
- Consult with principals, clinicians, teachers, parents, and other agencies as needed.
- Strive to maintain and improve professional competency.
- Collaborate with the Ex. Director of Special Education to provide therapy oversight and program support to all SLP and SLPAs in the District.
- Ensure all SLPs and SLPAs are provided regular support and appropriate professional development activities.

- $4,500 Annual supplement for Lead duties.
- $3,500 Medicaid billing stipend
- $1,500 Retention bonus, upon completion of first year and verified commitment to return for additional year.
