Role Description The Litigation Attorney will handle a diverse caseload, including matters in family law, criminal defense, personal injury, and other related practice areas. Day-to-day responsibilities include meeting with clients, assessing case merits, developing case strategies, drafting pleadings and motions, conducting legal research, and preparing for hearings and trials. The attorney will appear in state courts throughout Utah (and potentially Wyoming), participate in depositions and negotiations, and coordinate with staff to manage case files and deadlines. This is a full-time, on-site role based in Lehi, UT, requiring regular in-person collaboration with colleagues and clients.
Qualifications
- Strong foundation in Law, with experience in litigation across areas such as family law, criminal defense, and personal injury.
- Proficiency in drafting and arguing Motions, including dispositive and procedural motions, supported by thorough legal research.
- Experience appearing before Courts, managing hearings, and navigating court rules and procedures in Utah (Wyoming experience is a plus).
- Demonstrated ability to prepare and conduct Trials, including witness examination, evidence presentation, and case strategy.
- Skill in planning and taking Depositions, including witness questioning, record creation, and use of deposition testimony in court.
- Active license to practice law in Utah; eligibility or admission in Wyoming is beneficial.
- Excellent written and verbal advocacy skills, strong negotiation abilities, and sound professional judgment.
- Ability to manage multiple cases, meet deadlines, work collaboratively with a legal team, and maintain high ethical standards.
- Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school; prior litigation experience at a law firm or in a clerkship is preferred.
