Base Pay

$75,000 to $100,000, plus excellent benefits, including paid time off, 401(k) retirement plan, and 100 percent company-paid employee health, life, and disability insurance. Approximately 85 to 90 percent of family medical is also covered.

Summary

Anderson Perry & Associates, Inc. (AP) is looking to hire a self-driven and passionate civil or structural engineer to work closely with our lead bridge engineer who has over 25 years of experience designing short and mid-span steel girder and prestressed concrete bridges. We will expedite your career in bridge design by integrating you into a team-oriented work environment where your skills will be honed with interesting and challenging design tasks, state-of-the-art technology and face-to-face interactions with clients and contractors. Furthermore, we offer annual training budgets for outside short courses and seminars to build your bridge design skills and your professional network. Responsibilities

  • Provide design engineering, including development of drawings and specifications for roadways, culverts, small and mid-span bridges, etc. to be used by contractors or owners for construction improvements.
  • Provide project management for the design team.
  • Provide in-field technical assistance for construction, utilities coordination, and subconsultant management and coordination.
  • Coordinate environmental permits and clearances.
  • Coordinate with clients and contractors.
  • Prepare cost estimates and quantity take-offs.
  • Participate in public meetings.
  • Meet the financial goals for both the client and the company

Qualifications

  • A four-year civil or structural engineering degree from an accredited university.
  • Two to five years of design experience developing bridge drawings and specifications.
  • Familiarity with ODOT and/or WSDOT funding programs and procedures (preferred but not mandatory).
  • Experience completing “local agency” type roadway and bridge projects. (preferred but not mandatory).
  • Training and/or classes in prestressed concrete, reinforced concrete, and steel.
  • An Oregon Professional Engineer’s License, or the ability to obtain one within one to three years of employment.
  • Valid driver's license DESIRED SKILL AND EXPERIENCE
  • Public speaking skills with experience participating in meetings with clients, the public, and contractors.
  • Familiarity with municipal infrastructure funding programs and procedures.
  • Experience in developing and writing planning documents, work agreements, and task orders.
  • Experience with Civil 3D, Bluebeam, and other PDF tools is desired but not mandatory.
  • Experience working with subconsultants.
  • Willingness to contribute to a team environment.
  • Experience with scheduling, managing resources, and producing timely deliverables.
  • An interest in developing effective, long-lasting relationships with clients, peers, and management.
