Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Press Brake Operator to join our manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining press brake machines to produce precise sheet metal components. This role requires a strong understanding of fabrication processes, blueprint reading, and quality inspection to ensure products meet specifications. The Press Brake Operator plays a critical role in delivering high-quality parts efficiently and safely within our production environment.
Responsibilities
- Set up and operate press brake machines to bend sheet metal according to detailed blueprints and specifications
- Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and schematics to determine proper tooling and machine settings
- Adjust machine parameters for accurate bending angles and dimensions using CNC programming when applicable
- Perform routine maintenance, calibration, and troubleshooting on press brake equipment to ensure optimal performance
- Inspect finished parts using precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges to verify accuracy
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to safety protocols at all times
- Collaborate with fabrication and assembly teams to meet production deadlines and quality standards
- Document production data accurately for quality control and process improvement purposes
Experience
- Proven experience operating press brake machines in a manufacturing or fabrication environment
- Knowledge of CNC laser cutting, CNC milling machines, CNC lathe, plasma cutting, electrical discharge machining, stamping presses, and other related machinery is preferred
- Familiarity with blueprint reading, GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing), and quality inspection techniques
- Mechanical knowledge of tooling setup, calibration, and maintenance of sheet metal fabrication equipment
- Ability to use hand tools, calipers, micrometers, and other precision measuring instruments effectively
- Experience with welding, machining, assembly, or fabrication processes is a plus
- Basic math skills necessary for calculating dimensions and tolerances in manufacturing tasks
