Overview
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Finishing Supervisor to oversee the final stages of manufacturing processes in our production facility. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical knowledge, leadership skills, and expertise in various fabrication and finishing techniques. This role is critical in ensuring that finished products meet quality standards and specifications, utilizing advanced machinery and tools. The Finishing Supervisor will lead a team of operators and technicians, coordinate finishing activities, and uphold safety and quality protocols throughout the process.
Responsibilities
- Supervise daily finishing operations, including cutting, welding, assembly, and surface treatment of metal components.
- Oversee the use of CNC laser cutting, CNC milling machines, CNC lathe, stamping presses, plasma cutting, electrical discharge machining, and press brake machines to ensure precision and efficiency.
- Coordinate with production teams to meet project deadlines while maintaining high-quality standards.
- Conduct quality inspections using micrometers, calipers, precision measuring instruments, and blueprint reading to verify dimensional accuracy and surface finish.
- Ensure proper setup and operation of tooling, hand tools, cranes, and other fabrication equipment.
- Train team members on safety procedures, proper machine operation, and quality control measures.
- Maintain a safe work environment by enforcing safety policies related to machinery operation such as forklifts and cranes.
- Collaborate with engineering teams on CNC programming adjustments and GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) specifications.
- Manage inventory of sheet metal, tooling, and consumables required for finishing activities.
- Document production data, inspection results, and process improvements for continuous quality enhancement.
Experience
- Proven experience in manufacturing or fabrication environments with hands-on knowledge of CNC laser cutting, CNC programming, welding, machining (CNC milling machine, CNC lathe), stamping presses, plasma cutting, electrical discharge machining (EDM), and press brake operations.
- Strong mechanical aptitude with familiarity in blueprint reading, tooling setup, sheet metal fabrication, assembly processes, and quality inspection techniques.
- Skilled in operating hand tools and heavy machinery such as forklifts and cranes safely.
- Knowledge of GD&T standards for precision measurement and quality assurance.
- Prior supervisory or leadership experience in a manufacturing setting is preferred.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and utilize precision measuring instruments like micrometers and calipers effectively.
