Role Description The Litigation Associate will work full time on-site in Salt Lake City, UT, supporting commercial and complex litigation matters from initial case assessment through resolution. Day-to-day responsibilities include conducting legal research, drafting pleadings, motions, briefs, and discovery responses, and assisting with case strategy under the guidance of senior attorneys. The role involves preparing for and participating in depositions, hearings, and trials, coordinating with clients and witnesses, and managing case files and deadlines. The Litigation Associate will collaborate closely with other attorneys and staff to develop individualized, strategic approaches to disputes and will be expected to handle multiple matters efficiently while maintaining high-quality work product.
Qualifications
- Strong foundation in Law, including civil procedure, evidence, and commercial litigation principles.
- Experience drafting and arguing Motions and other court filings in state and/or federal courts.
- Advanced Research skills using legal databases and other resources to support case strategy and written advocacy.
- Familiarity with Depositions, including preparation of outlines, review of transcripts, and support for witness preparation.
- Knowledge of Courts processes and local rules, with the ability to manage filings, deadlines, and courtroom practice.
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school and admission, or eligibility for admission, to the Utah State Bar.
- Excellent written and oral advocacy skills, attention to detail, and strong analytical abilities.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a small, high-performing team and to manage multiple matters in a fast-paced environment.
- Prior litigation experience, including trial or appellate work, is preferred.
