Job Summary:
Responsible for cleaning patient rooms utilizing the seven-step method of cleaning, isolation areas in accordance with protocols, bathrooms and all other areas of the hospital/clinics according to cleaning schedules. Responsible for washing Dietary hot pads and rags, Dietary tablecloths, Housekeeping mops and rags. Picks up soiled linen from ED, Radiology and 2nd Floor and restocks linen, as needed.
Job Responsibilities
- Cleans all patient rooms utilizing the seven-step method of cleaning.
- Responsible for cleaning of mop buckets, maid's cart and any other equipment that may need to be cleaned.
Cleans other hospital departments and bathrooms, per cleaning schedule and protocols.
Cleans isolation areas according to protocols.
- Collects and transports trash, soiled linen and infectious waste safely and appropriately
- Restocks linen in ED and Radiology, and other departments, as needed.
- Has knowledge and ability to perform laundry duties such as operating washing machine and dryer to clean the following items:
a. Emergency Department Doctor's Sleeping Room linen,
b. Dietary hot pads, rags and tablecloths,
c. Housekeeping mops and rags.
8. Have the knowledge and ability to work any schedule in the Housekeeping Department.
9. Demonstrates knowledge of safety procedures for housekeeping.
10. Uses standard precautions appropriately.
11. Safely operates equipment, appropriately uses and stores chemicals.
12. Adheres to Confidentiality/Release of Information guidelines for adults and minors.
13. Maintains an acceptable level of competency as measured by quality assurance inspections.
14. Displays competency in actions during emergency situations.
Education Requirements and Other Requirements:
Education Level:
High school graduate, some college preferred, but not required.
Certification/Licensure:.

Experience Requirements:
1 year of experience in institutional cleaning preferred, but not required.
