We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Union Glazier to join our dynamic construction team. As a Union Glazier, you will be responsible for installing, repairing, and replacing glass and glazing systems across various commercial and residential projects. Your expertise will help ensure the safety, quality, and aesthetic appeal of our clients’ buildings. Duties
- Read and interpret construction plans, schematics, and technical drawings to accurately execute glass installation projects.
- Measure dimensions precisely using tools such as tape measures, levels, and calipers to ensure proper fit and finish.
- Handle glass materials safely, including cutting, fabricating, and installing various types of glass for windows, doors, partitions, and facades.
- Use hand tools and power tools to cut, shape, assemble, and install glass fixtures with precision.
- Install doors, windows, trim carpentry elements, metal stud framing, and other related fixtures following safety standards and project specifications.
- Perform heavy lifting and physical tasks required for large glass panels or structural components while maintaining safety protocols.
- Apply caulking and sealing techniques to ensure weatherproofing and energy efficiency of installed systems.
- Collaborate with team members on remodeling projects or new construction sites to meet project deadlines and quality standards.
Requirements
- Proven construction site experience with a focus on glazing or related trades such as carpentry or metal framing.
- Ability to read blueprints, construction plans, schematics, and technical drawings accurately.
- Skilled in using hand tools (e.g., chisels, hammers), power tools (e.g., drills, saws), and measuring devices for precise work.
- Knowledge of glass materials handling—including cutting, fabrication, installation—and safety procedures.
- Experience in window installation, door hanging, fixture installation, cabinet installation, or remodeling is highly desirable.
- Strong physical stamina with the ability to perform heavy lifting and work at heights in various weather conditions.
- Familiarity with construction estimating processes is a plus but not mandatory.
- Valid union membership or willingness to join the union; commitment to safety standards and teamwork.
