Rotational Assignment: Dakota Foundry, Webster, South Dakota
Schedule: 20 days on, followed by 10 days home
Pay: $24 to $26 per hour, based on experience
Travel: Approved company travel expenses are paid

Position Summary

Anderson Foundries is seeking an experienced Maintenance Technician or Maintenance Specialist to support equipment and facility maintenance at Dakota Foundry in Webster, South Dakota.

This position follows an oil field style rotation. The employee will work 20 consecutive days at Dakota Foundry, followed by 10 consecutive days home in Muncie. Workdays during the rotation will typically be 8 to 10 hours and will include weekends.

The ideal candidate has a strong industrial maintenance background and can troubleshoot, repair, and maintain mechanical and electrical equipment. Foundry experience is strongly preferred, but we are willing to consider candidates with relevant experience in manufacturing, heavy industry, agriculture, construction, or similar environments.

Primary Responsibilities

• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on production equipment and facility systems
• Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic issues
• Diagnose equipment failures and complete repairs efficiently
• Maintain motors, pumps, bearings, conveyors, gearboxes, compressors, and related equipment
• Support maintenance of foundry equipment, furnaces, sand systems, molding equipment, cranes, dust collection systems, and material handling equipment
• Complete basic welding, fabrication, cutting, and equipment installation as needed
• Assist with equipment upgrades and facility improvement projects
• Respond to urgent equipment breakdowns and help minimize production downtime
• Inspect equipment and identify potential problems before failures occur
• Maintain accurate maintenance and repair records
• Communicate parts, tools, and supply needs to plant leadership
• Follow all company safety procedures, lockout/tagout requirements, and PPE standards
• Keep maintenance areas, tools, and equipment organized
• Support other maintenance and operational needs as assigned

Qualifications

• Previous industrial, manufacturing, or heavy equipment maintenance experience required
• Strong mechanical troubleshooting and repair skills
• Working knowledge of electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems
• Ability to read equipment manuals, schematics, and technical drawings
• Welding and fabrication experience preferred
• Foundry or metal manufacturing experience is a plus
• Ability to work independently and manage priorities in a fast paced environment
• Willingness and ability to travel to Webster, South Dakota for each 20 day rotation
• Ability to work 8 to 10 hour shifts, including weekends, during the rotation
• Reliable attendance and strong personal accountability
• Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record

Physical Requirements

• Ability to regularly stand, walk, bend, climb, kneel, and work around industrial equipment
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
• Ability to work in a manufacturing environment that may include heat, noise, dust, and varying temperatures
• Ability to safely use ladders, lifts, hand tools, and power tools
• Ability to wear required personal protective equipment

Compensation and Schedule

This is an hourly position paying $24 to $26 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications. Overtime will be paid in accordance with applicable law and company policy.

The position follows a rotating schedule of:

• 20 consecutive days working at Dakota Foundry in Webster, South Dakota
• 8 to 10 hour workdays, including weekends
• 10 consecutive days home following each rotation
• Approved company travel expenses paid

Pay: $24.00 - $26.00 per hour
