Facilities Maintenance Tech / Parts Runner
Location: Morgantown, WV based
Job Overview
We are seeking a dependable Facilities Maintenance Technician / Parts Runner to support the Maintenance Department and shop operations at Anderson Excavating. This position assists with maintaining company facilities, transporting parts and supplies, and supporting mechanics and maintenance staff to ensure equipment repairs and daily operations run efficiently.
The ideal candidate is organized, reliable, mechanically inclined, and comfortable working in a construction and heavy equipment environment.
Responsibilities:
Pick up and deliver equipment parts, tools, and supplies from vendors and suppliers
Assist mechanics by locating, organizing, and staging parts for equipment repairs
Maintain organization of shop parts inventory, storage areas, and maintenance workspaces
Perform light facility maintenance and general upkeep of shop buildings, yard areas, and company property
Assist with shop cleanliness and safety including sweeping, organizing tools, and maintaining work areas
Load and unload parts, materials, and shop supplies as needed
Assist the Maintenance Manager with parts inventory tracking and restocking of commonly used items
Operate company vehicles to transport parts, materials, and supplies between vendors, job sites, and company facilities
Perform basic mechanical assistance tasks under supervision when needed
Follow all company safety policies and procedures while working around heavy equipment and shop operations
Required Qualifications:
Valid driver’s license
Ability to lift 50 pounds and perform physically demanding tasks
Ability to work both indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions
Strong organizational and time-management skills
Dependable work ethic and ability to work independently when completing parts runs
Ability to communicate effectively with supervisors, mechanics, and vendors
Prior experience in construction, equipment maintenance, facilities maintenance, or parts handling preferred
Basic mechanical knowledge of construction equipment or diesel equipment preferred
CDL is a plus but not required
Experience working in a shop or heavy equipment environment preferred
Reports to:
The Facilities Maintenance Technician / Parts Runner position will report to the Maintenance Manager.
Pay: From $18.00 per hour
