Job Responsibilities
The key responsibilities include (but are not limited to the following):
- Responsible for scanning and document all products coming into cooler.
- Perform freight handling using appropriate motorized and manual equipment (crane operation when certified).
- Loading products into trailers for delivery to various customers
- Picking of various customer products to be loaded into trailers
- Janitorial duties
- Moving trailers back and forth between both plant and cooler
- Monitor product for quality control and report any issues to supervisor as needed
- Report any product/packaging issues.
- Replace any product that tips, spills, or is damaged during load out.
- Utilizing a continuous improvement mindset, assist in identifying opportunities to improve processes.
- Perform housekeeping activities to maintain a clean, sanitary, and safe work area. Complete zone cleaning for assigned area.
- Follow all required work-safe practices. This would include wearing of all required PPE in designated areas, confined space safety, safe chemical handling, fall restraints, etc.
- Ensure proper code date rotation.
- All other duties as assigned within job classification.
- Experience with equipment operation, preferably in food manufacturing, but not required
- Understanding and adherence to quality control procedures
- Excellent communication skills to effectively work with team members
- Ability to troubleshoot and problem-solve production line issues
- Good record-keeping skills to accurately document operations
- Experience with and adherence to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and Safe Food Quality (SQF) Standards
- Experience with and adherence to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) is a plus
- Strong work ethic and attention to detail
- Must be able to work in a refrigerated work area.
- Continual movement of empty and full cases and stacks, within the warehouse by using a hook. Individual cases will weigh 48 lbs., with full stacks weighing up to 288 lbs.
- Frequent lifting and lowering of cases to and from pick bays.
- Bending, squatting, and twisting of the body will occur while moving products regularly.
- Minimum age 18.
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- You must successfully pass a pre-employment drug test, physical, lifting/ physical capacity test, and a background check. The reputation of our company is very important and we expect our employees to be the same.
- Must be able to successfully acquire a Commercial Driver's License Class A (CDL-A) with Tanker Endorsement within 45 calendar days.
- Fork Truck Certification required.
- Must be able to understand and communicate in English (Verbal, Reading, Writing) fluently.
