Requirements
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design of power distribution systems (low and medium voltage) for a variety of facility types, including medical, utility, industrial, and commercial
- Perform electrical studies such as load flow, short circuit, arc flash, harmonics, and coordination
- Prepare detailed engineering documents, equipment specifications, and data sheets aligned with project scope and electrical engineering principles
- Oversee sizing and selection of electrical equipment
- Provide construction observation, inspection, and field support during startup and commissioning
- Review shop drawings, submittals, and interface with suppliers, clients, and cross-disciplinary teams
- Understand and integrate architectural, mechanical, civil, and structural considerations into electrical design
- Manage projects as assigned, including directing team members and subcontractors
- Support business development through proposal writing and client engagement
- Approve final electrical selections and drawing submittals
- Mentor junior staff and contribute to cross-functional technical support
- Minimum 8-10 years in electrical engineering, with demonstrated expertise in electrical power system design
- Strong background in designing systems across utility and infrastructure projects
- Extensive Revit experience for building and site electrical systems
- In-depth knowledge of relevant codes: NEC, NFPA, IBC, Life Safety Code, etc
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills
- Effective team leader who thrives in a collaborative environment
- Strong attention to detail, adaptability, and organizational skills
- Comfortable working directly with clients, consultants, and internal teams
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering
- Professional Engineer (P.E.) registration in Minnesota required; licensure in additional states is a plus
- Willingness to travel up to 30% for site visits and client meetings
- Must have a valid driver's license and be insurable for rental or company vehicles
- Must meet all requirements to travel commercially without restrictions
