JOB GOAL:               Support the implementation of best practices which will result in better performance

 

QUALIFICATIONS AND TRAINING:

 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Education with an endorsement in Elementary or Secondary Education
  • Have an Administrative Endorsement (preferred)
  • Tennessee Teaching License (current)
  • Successful school-level experience
  • Three years of successful teaching experience or equivalent
  • Effective decision-making and verbal/written communication skills
  • Displays interpersonal skills
  • Alternatives to the above qualifications as the Superintendent might find appropriate and acceptable

 

EVALUATION:       Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with

provisions of the Board’s policy on evaluation of personnel.

 

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

  1. Works as part of the leadership team with the building principal.
  2. Provides assistance in conducting needs assessment strategies and program evaluation.
  3. Identifies, plans, organizes, and conducts professional development opportunities relevant to school needs; researches, identifies, and models best practices.
  4. Coaches, supports and mentors classroom teachers.
  5. Works with teachers individually, in collaborative teams, and/or with departments, providing practical support on a full range of instructional strategies.
  6. Conducts regular meetings with classroom teachers to examine student work and monitor progress in order to support teacher reflection and action.
  7. Works closely with building level leadership team in the development and implementation of professional learning communities and sustains the change process required to operate
  8. Collects, organizes, and completes information necessary for reports and evaluations.
  9. Demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills to deal effectively with students, educators, parents, and community members.
  10. Have a deep understanding of best practices for teaching.
  11. Knowledgeable about formative and diagnostic assessments and research-based instructional practices.
  12. Performs other related duties as assigned or directed.
