POSITION: Detention Deputy

SALARY: $50,332-$53,305

12 Hour Shift Schedule

DEPARTMENT: Detention Division, Support Section

Responsibilities

Works under the direct supervision of the watch commander of the detention center. Performs security duties maintaining order and physical custody of inmates within the detention center. Responsible for the care, custody, and control of persons to include booking and releasing offenders, maintaining security of the facility for staff members, inmates, and escorting offenders within and/or outside the secure confines of the Detention Center.

Minimum Qualifications

• U. S. Citizen High School Diploma or GED
• Proficient in data entry
• Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing
• Ability to multitask with a sense of urgency and purpose while applying advanced system skills
  
  

Certified Class 2 with South Carolina Criminal Justice Academy or must be able to obtain certification within one year of employment.
