What You’ll Be Doing

As a Resident in Counseling at Anderson, you’ll have a manageable caseload that allows you to:

  • Provide individual, family, and/or group counseling in your areas of interest

  • Develop collaborative, strengths-based treatment plans with your clients

  • Conduct intakes and assessments with the support of experienced clinicians

  • Utilize evidence-based practices in real-world settings

  • Receive weekly LPC supervision that is both supportive and skill-building

  • Work in the -office, including telehealth

  • Collaborate with a passionate, close-knit team who values work-life balance

  • Grow into a full-time clinician role, with mentorship every step of the way

What We’re Looking For

Must Have:

  • Master’s degree in Counseling or Clinical Mental Health Counseling (CACREP or equivalent)

  • Registered Resident in Counseling with the Virginia Board

  • A genuine passion for helping others and growing as a clinician

  • Strong communication and emotional intelligence skills

  • A desire to work in a collaborative, team-driven environment

Nice to Have (but not required):

  • Experience with children, teens, or families

  • Training in CBT, DBT, trauma-informed care, or motivational interviewing

  • Bilingual (especially Spanish or ASL)

  • Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR), but we’ll train you!
