Duties
- Assist experienced welders with preparation, setup, and cleanup of welding equipment and work areas
- Learn and perform MIG (Metal Inert Gas) welding techniques under supervision
- Support fabrication activities including sheet metal work, pipe threading and assembly
- Use hand tools, power tools and blueprint reading to interpret project specifications
- Conduct basic math calculations for measurements and material estimations
- Follow safety protocols aligned with ASME codes & standards to ensure a secure working environment
Requirements
- Prior construction site experience or familiarity with construction environments is preferred
- Basic mechanical knowledge and understanding of schematics are advantageous
- Ability to operate hand tools, power tools and machining equipment safely
- Strong interest in welding techniques such as MIG welding
- Competency in reading blueprints and schematics for fabrication and assembly projects
- Good communication skills with the ability to follow instructions precisely
- Basic math skills for measurements and calculations related to fabrication tasks
- Willingness to learn new skills related to pipe threading, welding, cutting and manufacturing processes
- Ability to read a tape measure
- Reliable transportation
- Valid drivers license
