Duties
- Enforce game rules and regulations accurately during soccer matches to ensure fair play and safety for all participants
- Make quick, confident decisions on game incidents, including fouls, goals, and player conduct, while maintaining professionalism and impartiality
- Manage player behavior and resolve conflicts effectively through clear communication and conflict management skills
- Conduct safety checks before games, including manual handling of equipment and ensuring field conditions meet safety standards
- Collaborate with coaches and event staff to coordinate game schedules and ensure smooth operations throughout matches
- Maintain detailed records of game incidents, fouls, and disciplinary actions in accordance with sports officiating protocols
Qualifications
- Proven experience in sports coaching or officiating, with a strong understanding of sports rules interpretation across soccer and other sports such as basketball or baseball
- Demonstrated ability to manage players’ behavior and handle conflicts effectively in fast-paced environments
- Excellent communication skills to clearly convey decisions and manage interactions with players, coaches, spectators, and fellow officials
- Experience working with children or youth sports programs is highly desirable
- Ability to stand for extended periods during matches and perform physical tasks associated with heavy lifting or equipment setup as needed
- Valid certifications in sports officiating or coaching are preferred; willingness to obtain necessary certifications is encouraged
