Job Title: Business Development Manager


Job Summary


We are seeking a Business Development Manager to drive growth by identifying, developing, and converting new business opportunities within the United States and wider America's region.

This role is suited to an individual with a strong engineering or technical background who has successfully transitioned into a commercial, client-facing position. You will be responsible for building relationships from the ground up, understanding customer needs, shaping tailored solutions, and developing long-term, value-driven customer relationships.

The ideal candidate combines technical credibility with commercial instinct and has a proven track record of creating opportunities from a standing start and growing customer–supplier relationships into sustainable, revenue-generating engagements.


Key Responsibilities


  • Identify and develop new business opportunities
  • Build and grow strong relationships with customers and key stakeholders
  • Understand customer challenges and develop tailored, solution-led proposals
  • Translate technical capabilities into clear commercial value propositions
  • Develop and execute account and territory growth strategies
  • Lead commercial discussions, proposals, and contract negotiations
  • Collaborate with internal engineering and production teams to shape solutions
  • Grow customer relationships into long-term, high-value engagements
  • Maintain and report on pipeline development, forecasting, and revenue performance
  • Represent the company at client meetings, site visits, and industry events


Required Qualifications


  • Experience in business development, solution sales, or a related role
  • Strong technical or engineering background, with the ability to understand and discuss complex solutions
  • Proven track record of originating opportunities and building customer relationships from scratch
  • Demonstrated success in growing customer–supplier relationships into long-term business
  • Strong commercial acumen and experience structuring deals
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills



 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in industrial and/or technical ceramics
  • Experience working closely with technical or engineering teams
  • Familiarity with long sales cycles and complex solution selling environments
  • Foreign language skills
