Assistant Project Manager / Junior Estimator
Andco Contracting Inc. is a high-end residential and commercial construction management firm seeking a motivated, organized, and detail-oriented individual to join our team.
We are looking for someone to support our project management and estimating operations. This position is a good fit for either a junior candidate looking to grow in the construction industry or someone with prior construction office experience who is ready to take on more responsibility.
Responsibilities
- Assist with daily project coordination and office support
- Help review plans, drawings, and project documents
- Assist with takeoffs, estimating, and bid preparation
- Prepare and organize bid packages for subcontractors and vendors
- Follow up with subcontractors and vendors during the bidding process
- Help review subcontractor proposals and organize bid comparisons
- Assist with preparing scopes of work, work orders, and project documentation
- Track submittals, shop drawings, samples, and product information
- Communicate with subcontractors, vendors, architects, designers, and field personnel
- Help maintain project logs, schedules, files, and correspondence
- Assist with change orders, pricing backup, and project tracking
- Support the project team with administrative and coordination tasks as needed
Qualifications
- Prior experience in construction, construction management, estimating, architecture, or a related field preferred
- Ability to read and understand construction drawings preferred
- Experience with construction management software is a plus
- Experience with estimating or takeoff software is a plus
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Word
- Strong organization and follow-up skills
- Good communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and stay detail-oriented
- Willingness to learn and grow within the company
- Reliable, motivated, and able to work well with a team
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate is someone who is organized, dependable, and interested in growing within a construction management company. We are open to candidates with junior-level experience as well as candidates who have already worked in a construction office, estimating department, architectural office, or project coordination role.
This role offers the opportunity to learn estimating, bid coordination, scopes of work, submittals, project documentation, and field coordination while working closely with an experienced construction team.
