Job Summary
Under the direct supervision of a Radiologic Technologist, the Radiology Student performs a variety of imaging procedures while adhering to regulatory standards and facility policies. The position provides hands-on clinical training for students currently enrolled in a Radiologic Technology program, with a strong emphasis on patient safety, accurate documentation, and technical competency.
Essential Functions
- Performs imaging procedures under supervision, ensuring patient safety and care quality
- Reviews patient history and physician's orders; prepares equipment and selects appropriate imaging parameters
- Follows radiation safety and infection control guidelines
- Assists with patient positioning, shielding, and education before and during procedures
- Monitors and reports patient condition changes; analyzes image quality and routes for radiologist interpretation
- Operates imaging and PACS equipment; reports malfunctions appropriately
- Maintains accurate documentation according to facility standards
- Participates in quality improvement, equipment maintenance, and restocking of supplies
- Administers contrast media when ordered and within scope of practice
- Performs additional related duties within scope of practice as assigned

Qualifications
Education
- High School Diploma or General Equivalency Diploma (GED) required
- Must be currently enrolled in an accredited Radiologic Technology program
Licenses/Certifications
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification from the American Heart Association required within time frame required by facility policy
