Schedule: Monday - Thursday, 6:00 AM - 4:30 PM

Pay Range: $21.00 - $30.00 per hour

Summary/Objective

The CNC Mill Operator (Level III) produces machined parts by setting up and operating CNC Milling Machines, verifying machine operation, maintain accuracy and tolerances, update travelers and routings.

Essential Functions

Must have mastered all the requirements of the previous level and master the following Functions:
Plans machining by studying work orders, blueprints, engineering plans, materials, specifications, orthographic drawings, reference planes, locations of surfaces, and machining parameters; interpreting geometric dimensions and tolerances (GD&T).
Programs mills by entering instructions, including zero and reference points; setting tool registers, offsets, compensation, and conditional switches; calculating requirements, including basic math, geometry, and trigonometry; proving part programs.
Sets-up mills by installing and adjusting three- and four-jaw chucks, fixture plates, tools, attachments, collets, bushings, cams, gears, stops, and stock pushers; indicating vices; tramming heads.
Verifies settings by measuring positions, first-run part, and sample work pieces; adhering to international standards.
Maintains continuity among work shifts by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs.
Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading technical publications and touring other manufacturing facilities.
Provides knowledge and experience in improving processes and outcomes.
Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.

Educations and Experience

High School Diploma, GED and/or Technical School Graduate with concentration CNC Mill operations highly desirable.
10 years of experience required.
Experience operating multi (3&4) axis CNC Mill, preferably OKUMA milling stainless steel.
Programming experience preferred.
G-Code/M-Code required.

Skills and Competencies

Able to read blueprints.
Knowledge in the use of measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, bore/depth micrometers and dial indicators.
Must have basic shop math/algebra skills.
Able to read, write, and have a working knowledge of English.

Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The noise level in the work environment can be loud.
