The Facilities Manager is responsible for overseeing the maintenance, repair, and operational efficiency of all company properties, facilities, and equipment. This role ensures a safe, functional, and comfortable working environment for all employees and visitors while optimizing space utilization and minimizing operating costs.
Key Responsibilities
Manage and coordinate all building maintenance activities, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and structural systems.
Develop and implement preventative maintenance programs and equipment.
Oversee regular inspections of the facility to identify and resolve maintenance issues promptly.
Manage the execution of repairs, renovations, and new projects, ensuring adherence to budget, schedule, and safety standards.
Ensure facilities operations comply with local, state, and federal regulations, including OSHA standards and building codes.
Develop and manage emergency preparedness plans, including fire safety, disaster recovery, and business continuity.
Oversee facility security systems and protocols, including access control, surveillance, and alarm systems.
Manage office layouts, seating arrangements, and departmental moves to optimize space utilization and efficiency.
Coordinate with department heads on facility needs related to growth or changes in operations.
Manage contracts with external vendors, contractors, and service providers (e.g., cleaning, security, landscaping, waste management).
Work through the purchase order (PO) system for facility-related expenses, ensuring proper authorization and coding.
Assist with ordering consumables (e.g., janitorial supplies, office supplies) and equipment necessary for various company programs and general facility operations.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in facilities maintenance, property management, or a relevant supervisory/lead role
- High school diploma or GED
- Vocational/technical certification or Associate's degree preferred
Professional certification such as Facilities Management Professional (FMP) or relevant trade certifications.
OSHA Certification
