Role Description
This full-time role, based on-site in Wixom, MI, is for a UPS Field Technician. In this role, you will perform scheduled maintenance, inspections, testing, troubleshooting, and repair of UPS systems and related equipment. Additional responsibilities include supporting generator and emergency lighting inverter maintenance, assisting with battery backup services, and completing battery replacements while ensuring adherence to industry safety standards. You will also maintain detailed service records and ensure customer satisfaction through high-quality service delivery.
Qualifications
- Technical proficiency in troubleshooting, testing, maintaining, and repairing UPS systems and related equipment
- Knowledge of electrical systems, circuitry, and battery backup systems
- Strong ability to read and interpret technical schematics and documentation
- Experience with generator systems and emergency lighting inverters is a plus
- Excellent problem-solving and critical-thinking skills
- Strong attention to detail in maintaining accurate service records using Microsoft Word and Excel
- Excellent time management skills and the ability to work independently
- Willingness to travel locally in the service area and provide support during emergency situations
- Must be willing to work nights, weekends and overtime as needed.
- Demonstrate safe work practices.
- Valid driver’s license and a clean driving record
- Must be able to pass a background check and drug test
- High school degree or GED required
- Technical certification in electrical or electronic systems or a related field is preferred
