Assistant Superintendent
Job Summary
Ancoats is hiring an Assistant Superintendent to support the delivery of commercial construction projects.
This role will lead smaller scopes or areas of a project independently while supporting the Superintendent in executing the full project. Key Responsibilities
Field Execution & Coordination
- Lead and manage defined areas of the jobsite with increasing independence
- Coordinate daily work with trade partners to maintain progress and flow
- Support and help drive the 3-week lookahead planning process
- Monitor production and escalate issues impacting schedule or quality
Safety
- Enforce Ancoats safety standards and OSHA requirements
- Perform weekly safety audits and support site-specific safety planning
- Assist with first-day, first-hour orientations and daily safety expectations
- Identify, communicate, and help resolve jobsite safety risks
Quality Control
- Review work in place to ensure alignment with plans and specifications
- Identify deficiencies early and coordinate corrective action
- Participate in pre-punch and punch list development and closeout
- Maintain a clean, organized, and inspection-ready jobsite
Schedule & Planning
- Assist in maintaining the master schedule and 3-week lookahead
- Track material deliveries, procurement status, and long-lead items
- Help identify risks to the critical path and communicate them clearly
- Support schedule updates and field coordination with project management team
Documentation & Communication
- Maintain accurate daily reports, photos, and field documentation
- Support SWPPP inspections, safety documentation, and meeting records
- Participate in trade meetings and project coordination discussions
- Build strong relationships with clients, trade partners, and internal teams
Experience and Competencies
Experience & Skills
- 2–4 years of commercial construction experience
- Ability to read and interpret plans and specifications
- Experience supporting field execution on active jobsites
- Strong organization and attention to detail
- Clear, professional communication in the field

Compensation and Benefits
- Salary: $80,000 – $110,000
