Real Estate Closer

Position Overview

• Schedule: Monday–Thursday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.; Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.

Position Summary

The Real Estate Closer serves as the primary coordinator and executor of residential and commercial real estate transactions from contract to closing. Working closely with supervising attorneys, other members of our team, lenders, title agents, buyers, sellers, and real estate professionals, the Closer ensures every transaction is complete accurately, efficiently, and in full compliance with applicable law. This role demands meticulous attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and a deep familiarity with the closing process.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the full closing process for residential and commercial real estate transactions, from receipt of executed contract through post-closing disbursement.

• Order and review title commitments, title searches, and lien searches; identify and clear title defects and exceptions in coordination with the supervising attorney.

• Prepare and review closing disclosures (CD), HUD-1 or ALTA settlement statements, deeds, bills of sale, affidavits, and all closing documentation.

• Coordinate with mortgage lenders, real estate agents, buyers, sellers, and third-party vendors to schedule and facilitate closings.

• Verify payoff statements, HOA estoppels, property tax information, and utility status prior to closing.

• Conduct or facilitate closings in person with professionalism and client-focused communication.

• Disburse proceeds, record documents with the appropriate county or Clerk of Court and manages post-closing file completion and title policy issuance.

• Maintain organized, compliant closing files and ensure all deadlines are met without exception.

• Communicate proactively with all transaction parties, providing status updates and resolving issues that arise prior to the closing table.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of real estate closing experience in a law firm, title company, or escrow setting.

• Strong working knowledge of title insurance, escrow procedures, and closing documentation.

• Familiarity with RESPA, TRID, and applicable state real estate regulations.

• Experience with residential purchase, refinance, and commercial closings.

• Proficiency in closing software (SoftPro or comparable platform).

• Exceptional organizational skills and ability to manage multiple files simultaneously.

• Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.

• Notary Public commission preferred (or willingness to obtain).

• High degree of professionalism, discretion, and meticulous attention to detail.
