Join our dedicated team as a Resident Manager and Supervisor for an Assisted Living Home. This is a full-time LIVE-IN SALARIED position.
As the Resident Manager and Staff Supervisor, you will have the vital role in maintaining a safe, supportive, and engaging environment for our residents. Duties
- Oversee all aspects of daily operations within the assisted living home, ensuring smooth and efficient functioning.
- Coordinate and supervise caregiving staff to deliver personalized assistance with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support.
- Monitor residents’ health by checking vital signs and observing for signs of cognitive or physical decline; respond promptly to any health concerns.
- Oversee medication assistance following prescribed protocols and maintain accurate documentation.
- Implement behavior management strategies tailored to residents with developmental or intellectual disability, cognitive impairments such as TBIs or FASDS or mental illness.
- Lead group activities, social work initiatives, and community engagement efforts to promote mental stimulation and social interaction among residents.
- Ensure cleanliness and hygiene standards are maintained through regular cleaning routines; manage meal preparation in accordance with dietary needs.
- Drive residents safely in standard passenger cars for appointments or outings while adhering to all traffic laws and safety protocols.
- Communicate effectively with residents’ families, healthcare providers, and support teams to coordinate care plans and address individual needs.
Skills
- Proven experience in assisted living or residential care home environments with a strong understanding of geriatrics and senior care principles.
- Expertise in assisting with ADLs, medication management, vital signs monitoring, knowledge and experience working with adults with developmental, and intellectual, and mental illness disabilities.
- Familiarity with ALH record keeping, daily progress notes, group home operations, and home & community care practices.
- Ability to perform manual handling tasks safely, including moderate lifting and with patient transfers by standby assist.
- Knowledge of behavioral management techniques for individuals with developmental disabilities or cognitive impairments or mental illness.
- Strong communication skills for engaging with clients, families, healthcare professionals, and team members effectively.
- CPR and First Aid certification to ensure immediate response during emergencies; experience working with individuals with disabilities is highly valued.
- Capable of operating a standard passenger car safely; experience driving for client outings.
- Demonstrated leadership qualities with the ability to supervise staff while fostering a compassionate environment focused on resident well-being.
