Yard Laborer

Duties

• Operate heavy machinery such as forklifts and overhead cranes to move materials safely and efficiently.
• Assist with maintaining cleanliness of the yard area.
• Conduct routine inspections of equipment and yard areas to identify hazards or maintenance needs; perform cleaning tasks to keep the site tidy.
• Use personal protective equipment (PPE) properly at all times to ensure safety for yourself and colleagues.
• Collaborate with team members to load/unload materials, operate heavy equipment safely, and execute yard operations efficiently.

Skills

• Willingness to learn.
• Use of a tape measure.
• Knowledge of manufacturing processes related to material handling environments.
• Familiarity with safety regulations including PPE use and general safety.
• Ability to perform heavy lifting safely while maintaining proper ergonomic techniques.
• Excellent attention to detail for conducting inspections and ensuring safety protocols are followed.
• Physical stamina to stand, walk, lift heavy objects, and perform manual tasks throughout the shift.
