This is a hands-on leadership role during the early phase, with heavy field presence and direct involvement in both operations and growth initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Stand up and lead electric utility field operations from the ground up
  • Establish processes across construction, maintenance, and outage response
  • Recruit, hire, and develop field teams, supervisors, and contractors

  • Create scalable operating procedures and performance metrics
  • Support business development efforts tied to electric utility services
  • Leverage industry knowledge to identify opportunities within utilities, co-ops, and municipalities
  • Contribute to contract acquisition through understanding of registration requirements, compliance standards, and bid and award processes
  • Build relationships with key stakeholders, utilities, and partners
  • Collaborate with leadership to expand service offerings and geographic reach
  • Oversee day-to-day operations across active field work
  • Lead outage response and emergency restoration efforts
  • Ensure quality, safety, and execution consistency across all projects
  • Maintain strong field presence, particularly during early-stage buildout

Qualifications

  • 4 years of hands-on utility field experience with leadership responsibility or Associate’s degree with relevant field and supervisory experience
  • OSHA certifications
  • Valid CDL (or ability to obtain)
  • Proven experience within electric utility field operations (non-negotiable)
  • Track record of leading crews and managing field execution
  • Experience building or scaling teams, functions, or service lines
  • Working knowledge of utility contracting, compliance, and bid processes
  • Ability to operate in both operational leadership and client-facing environments
  • Strong understanding of distribution systems, outage response, and reliability

This Is a Rare Opportunity To Build a Business Unit From Scratch Within a Growing Organization. The Right Leader Will Have The Autonomy To

  • Shape operations
