What are the responsibilities and job description for the C14 Certified (Preferred) Airless Spray Painter - Norfolk, VA position at Anchor Sandblasting and Coatings?
C-14 Airless Spray Painter
Qualified candidates should be currently certified to SSPC C-14. Can provide a history of spray-painting experience aboard vessels or complex industrial structures. OSHA -10 (Maritime) training /certification a plus.
Qualified candidates should be capable of:
- Connecting all air and fluid systems associated with spray equipment and proper operation of same. Capable of troubleshooting airless pumps and making minor repairs
- Working knowledge of proper mixing techniques of various coatings
- Can read and interpret Product Data Sheets
- Has experience using various coatings (epoxies, antifoulants, polysiloxane, alkyds, and enamels)
- Has experience painting on steel and aluminum substrates
- Has experience on both exterior and interior surfaces of a vessel (Hull, Superstructure, Tank & Void)
- Will perform brush and roll assignments when directed
- Understand Confined Space entry requirements
- Prefer candidates that can travel as positions are available in Tampa and Norfolk
- Limited positions available for non-certified individuals, however, must demonstrate knowledge of the elements enumerated above
- Must be able to pass a same-day use oral drug test. Detects usage from 4 12 hours from usage.
- Must be able to work in the United States.
- Must maintain a high level of attendance; and do quality and unsupervised work.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Work effectively as a team.
- Follow instructions and guidelines set forth by the company.
- Available to work 7 days/week as needed.
EXPERIENCE AND ABILITIES
- Must have 1 years' experience painting - INSIDE OF TANKS REQUIRED.
- Must have own equipment.
- Must be able to set up, operate, and maintain airless spray paint equipment and sandblasting equipment in accordance with OSHA, federal, state, and local standards, and requirements for shipyard work.
- Must have knowledge of shipyard safety practices.
