We are establishing a new independent clinical research site in New Caney, Texas, and are seeking a qualified and motivated physician to serve as a Principal Investigator (PI) for Phase II–IV clinical trials.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as Principal Investigator for Phase II–IV clinical research studies.
  • Provide medical and scientific oversight for assigned clinical trials.
  • Protect participant safety while ensuring ethical and compliant research conduct.
  • Review study protocols and participate in feasibility assessments.
  • Evaluate participant eligibility and provide clinical oversight throughout each study.
  • Work closely with the Senior Clinical Research Coordinator and research staff.
  • Participate in Sponsor and CRO qualification calls, meetings, and site visits.
  • Participate in Site Qualification Visits (SQVs), Site Initiation Visits (SIVs), and Monitoring Visits.
  • Review adverse events, serious adverse events, laboratory results, ECGs, and other clinically significant findings.
  • Review and sign required medical and regulatory documentation.
  • Supervise delegated study activities while maintaining appropriate physician oversight.
  • Participate in investigator meetings and protocol-specific training.
  • Ensure compliance with FDA regulations, ICH-GCP guidelines, study protocols, and sponsor requirements.
  • Help shape the long-term growth and strategic direction of the research site.
  • Build strong professional relationships with Sponsors, CROs, CRAs, and research partners.

Required Qualifications

  • MD or DO degree.
  • Active and unrestricted Texas Medical License.
  • Good professional standing.
  • Strong clinical judgment and communication skills.
  • Ability to exercise independent medical judgment while providing appropriate oversight of research participants.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with CRCs, Sponsors, CROs, CRAs, and research staff.
  • Willingness to complete Good Clinical Practice (GCP) and protocol-specific training if needed.
  • Ability to travel to the New Caney research site as required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience as a Principal Investigator or Sub-Investigator preferred, but not required.
  • Previous participation in Phase II, III, or IV clinical trials.
  • Current active clinical practice.
  • Established patient population or physician referral network is highly desirable.
  • Experience with Sponsor/CRO interactions, feasibility assessments, Site Qualification Visits (SQVs), Site Initiation Visits (SIVs), Monitoring Visits, and regulatory compliance.
  • Interest in helping build and grow an independent clinical research organization.

Schedule & Work Model

This is a flexible part-time contract opportunity designed to accommodate an active medical practice.

Physician involvement will vary based on study activity, enrollment, and protocol requirements. On-site availability in New Caney, Texas is required for activities requiring physician oversight. Administrative tasks, investigator meetings, protocol training, and document reviews may be completed remotely when permitted by sponsor and protocol requirements.

Compensation

$150.00 – $250.00 per hour

Compensation will be determined based on medical specialty, previous Principal Investigator or Sub-Investigator experience, clinical research background, availability, and overall level of involvement within the organization.

Additional opportunities for expanded responsibilities and increased compensation may become available as the research program grows.
