Duties
As a vital member of our hospice program, you will help honor each individual's beliefs, values, and dignity while offering comfort, guidance, and presence in the face of serious illness and end-of-life care. Our organization is committed to holistic, patient-centered support that addresses the whole person; body, mind, and spirit.
- Promote hospice philosophy.
- Provide crisis intervention and emotional support to patients experiencing distress or grief.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary care teams to integrate spiritual care into overall patient treatment plans.
- Facilitate conversations around life review, legacy, end-of-life issues, and coping strategies for staff, patients, and community groups.
Requirements
Qualified candidates will hold a Master’s degree in Divinity, Theology, or a related field, along with ordination or endorsement by a recognized faith group or spiritual body. Board certification (or eligibility) as a Chaplain (BCC) through APC, NACC, or equivalent is strongly preferred, as is previous experience in hospice, palliative care, or hospital chaplaincy.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage diverse populations with a compassionate, nonjudgemental and patient-centered approach.
- Skilled in crisis management, conflict management, and crisis intervention techniques.
- Exceptional writing skills for documentation, reports, and educational materials related to spiritual care.
- Ability to work compassionately under pressure while maintaining professionalism and empathy.
- Hold valid drivers license, reliable transportation and auto insurance.
- Travel to where patient calls home.
- Occasional evening or weekend hours may be necessary based on patient needs.

Full-Time Pay: $60,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
