Position SummaryThe Senior Electrical Commissioning Engineer is a senior technical contributor responsible for leading electrical commissioning scopes on mission-critical data center projects. This role bridges hands-on execution and technical leadership, owning complex testing activities while mentoring junior engineers and supporting discipline leads and project managers in delivering safe, reliable electrical systems in alignment with the Anchor Mission Critical Playbook.
Key Responsibilities- Lead electrical commissioning scopes under the direction of the Electrical Commissioning Lead or Cx PM
- Execute and oversee Pre-Functional Checks (PFCs), including L2/L3 readiness inspections
- Develop, execute, and document Functional Performance Testing (FPT)
- Support Integrated Systems Testing (IST), including power failure and recovery scenarios
- Coordinate with contractors, OEMs, and controls teams during testing and troubleshooting
- Identify and resolve electrical issues; escalate risks using Anchor Mission Critical issue protocols
- Review test results and commissioning documentation for accuracy and completeness
- Mentor and guide Electrical Commissioning Engineers
Technical Competencies- Strong understanding of medium- and low-voltage power distribution systems
- Experience with UPS systems, generators, switchgear, and power monitoring
- Ability to interpret electrical one-lines, schematics, and sequences of operation
- Working knowledge of protection schemes and redundancy concepts
- Familiarity and experience with commissioning platforms
Education & Experience RequirementsRequired:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience
- 6–12 years of experience in mission-critical or high-reliability electrical systems
- Demonstrated experience executing electrical commissioning on data center projects
Preferred:
- Hyperscale or large colocation data center experience
- Prior experience in a senior or lead commissioning role
Certifications (Preferred)- Certified Commissioning Professional (CCP)
- OSHA 30-Hour Construction Safety

This range reflects nominal experience of 6–12 years in mission-critical electrical commissioning. Compensation above the stated range may be considered for exceptional technical depth or leadership capability.
