SHELTER SUPPORT STAFF
This job encompasses the care, well-being and integrity of the clients being served through the Anchor House and all of its programs.
This part-time position will be covering the hours of 6p-10p weekly on Thursday, Saturday and Sunday and support other shifts as needed.
Responsibilities:
- Greets clients & visitors
- Clean shelter areas as needed (cleaning, sanitizing, laundry)
- Build rapport with clients. Discuss jobs, finances, savings, childcare, life challenges, etc.
- Case Management as needed and as directed by Housing Director
- Notify Housing Director or Case Manager of possible services/referrals needed for clients
- Answer questions about Anchor House and services provided (shelter/pantry)
- Clarify and remind clients of rules/expectations and enforce said rules
- Talk with eligible families and give instructions on waitlist procedures
- Monitor client/children activity through the shift-intervene/assist as necessary
- E-mail end of shift staff notes detailing events of that shift
- Contact Exec. Dir/Housing Dir. in event of police, fire/security alarm emergency
- Miscellaneous office duties: answering telephones, taking messages, copying, spreadsheets
- Assist in monitoring appropriate visitor/client access and security to the property
- Operate office equipment, computer, copier, shredder, etc.
- Receive donations, help donors fill out donation forms
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds
- Must be able to climb stairs
- Must be organized and detail oriented
- Miscellaneous duties as necessary and as assigned by Executive Director/Housing Director
