Overview
We are seeking a compassionate, dedicated staff member to join our Mental Health Rehabilitation Center (MHRC). In this role, you will support individuals living with mental illness by helping them build life skills, improve independence, and work toward personal recovery and wellness through structured rehabilitation activities and supportive care.
Duties
- Collaborate with clients and treatment teams to assess strengths, needs, and goals related to daily living skills, vocational skills, and community integration.
- Support clients in working on their individualized rehabilitation plans that focus on skill-building, goal-setting, and fostering independence in areas such as self-care, socialization, and vocational pursuits.
- Provide hands-on assistance, coaching, and support to clients in practicing and mastering skills related to daily living activities, communication, problem-solving, and interpersonal relationships.
- Facilitate vocational assessments and career exploration activities to help clients identify their interests, strengths, and vocational aspirations.
- Assist clients in accessing vocational resources, job placement services, and supported employment opportunities in the community, providing ongoing support and advocacy as needed.
- Teach and reinforce essential life skills, such as budgeting, meal planning and prep, time management, and household management, to support clients' independence and self-sufficiency.
- Provide practical guidance and support in navigating daily challenges and transitions, including housing transitions, transportation arrangements, and accessing community resources and services.
- Foster a supportive and empowering environment that promotes clients' autonomy, resilience, and self-confidence in managing their daily lives and achieving their recovery goals.
- Coordinate and facilitate recreational and socialization activities that promote community engagement, peer support, and meaningful participation in social networks and community events.
- Assist clients in developing and maintaining supportive relationships, accessing social support networks, and participating in community-based activities that align with their interests and preferences.
- Collaborate with community organizations, recreational facilities, and volunteer programs to expand clients' opportunities for social inclusion, skill-building, and leisure activities.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records in compliance with organizational policies and regulatory standards.
- Monitor and evaluate client progress towards rehabilitation goals, identifying strengths, challenges, and areas for further skill development or support.
Experience
- High School plus experience or Bachelor's degree in psychology, social work, rehabilitation counseling, or a related field preferred; relevant experience may be considered in lieu of formal education.
- Previous experience working with individuals with mental illness or disabilities in a rehabilitation or community-based setting preferred.
- Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport, trust, and positive relationships with clients, families, and multidisciplinary team members.
- Knowledge of rehabilitation principles, recovery-oriented practices, and evidence-based interventions for individuals with mental illness.
- Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with proficiency in documenting client progress and maintaining confidentiality.

Pay: $23.00 - $29.00 per hour
