If you have a family member or friend in New York who needs help at home, you may qualify to become their paid caregiver through a Medicaid-supported home care program.
This program is for friends and extended family members only. Spouses and parents of minor children are not eligible.
The person you want to care for must already have active Medicaid in New York.

Siblings, cousins, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, friends, and other extended family members
Who is not eligible
Spouses, parents of minors, children, in-laws, or adopted children
