CABS Health Network is a leading Social Care Network (SCN) provider serving New York City’s most vulnerable communities. We deliver enhanced services such as housing support, nutrition, home remediation, transportation, and care coordination. We are seeking a detail-oriented, reliable, and mission-driven professional to support our Housing team by managing procurement, documentation, and billing submissions for housing services provided to SCN clients.
Position Summary
The Housing Support Navigator (Purchasing & Billing Services) plays a key operational role within the Housing Support Team. This person is not a case manager; instead, they focus on the administrative, purchasing, and billing workflows that ensure timely delivery of housing-related services for clients.
The ideal candidate is organized, tech-savvy, efficient, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with multiple deadlines.
Key ResponsibilitiesPurchasing & Service Coordination
- Process and place orders for housing-related items, including:
- Furniture, home goods, utility supports, and essential household items
- Emergency items requested by the Housing Team or SCN partners
- Track deliveries and maintain documentation for all purchased items
- Coordinate with vendors to resolve issues (backorders, delivery problems, returns)
Billing & Documentation
- Enter and submit monthly billing for housing services through approved SCN software systems (e.g., Unite Us, FindHelp, other plan-based portals)
- Maintain accurate records of receipts, invoices, proof-of-service, and payment requests
- Prepare monthly billing summaries and reconcile any discrepancies
- Support housing-related submissions for:
- Back rent assistance
- Utility arrears
- Housing stabilization supports
Clerical & Administrative Support
- Maintain client files and housing service records in CABS’ internal workflow system
- Support the Housing Team in tracking pending items and prioritizing urgent cases
- Ensure compliance with SCN documentation requirements
- Assist with internal reporting and data quality checks
Qualifications
- High school diploma required; associate’s or bachelor’s degree preferred
- Experience in administrative support, purchasing, billing, or operations (healthcare or social services experience a plus)
- Strong computer and data-entry skills (Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, billing software)
- Organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable managing multiple tasks simultaneously
- Strong customer service and communication skills
- Ability to work with confidential information appropriately
- Experience working with vulnerable populations is helpful but not required
