Position Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented, proactive Paralegal to join our growing
team. This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about family law,
highly organized, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
You will play a key role in supporting our attorney and helping deliver
high-quality, client-focused legal services.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and draft legal documents, including pleadings, financial
statements, memoranda, contracts, and correspondence.
- Communicate with clients, court staff, and other attorneys in a
professional and courteous manner.
- Conduct legal research using databases, statutes, and case law to support
case strategy.
- Organize and maintain case files, ensuring documents are accurately
labeled, indexed, and stored securely.
- Coordinate and schedule client meetings, calls, and other case-related
appointments.
- Assist with preparing and filing legal documents with courts and
administrative agencies, ensuring compliance with rules and deadlines.
- Support trial preparation, including organizing exhibits, witness lists, and
trial binders.
- Review and summarize deposition transcripts, medical records, and other
discovery materials.
- Handle administrative tasks such as answering phones, managing
calendars, and scheduling appointments.
- Maintain strict confidentiality and adhere to all ethical and professional
standards.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Paralegal Studies, Legal
Studies, or a related field.
- Paralegal certification preferred but not required.
- Prior experience as a paralegal in a law firm or legal department (family
law experience is a plus).
- Strong legal research and writing skills with excellent attention to detail.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong organizational and time-management abilities; able to prioritize
and meet deadlines.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite; experience with legal research
tools such as LexisNexis or Westlaw.
- Familiarity with legal terminology, procedures, and court rules.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, demonstrating
initiative and reliability.
Work Environment
- Primarily office-based role, with occasional visits to courthouses or other
legal venues as needed.
- Use of standard office equipment, including computers, printers, and legal
research databases.
- Occasional local travel may be required for court, client meetings, or other
proceedings.
